Vijayee Bhav Laut Ke Aaa.

Bye-Bye, will see you soon, let us meet again, a hand shake; flying kiss, a pat on the back, a kiss, hand of blessing on the head, love you, touching of feet, eye contact for long; humans when separate, animals do; but not always some so formal, out of compulsion. Many a parting emotional remain in memory always: seen a young boy-my grandson going US for study Masters; a honour for our family being the first to go foreign for study: family full reached Airport everybody advised him the way one liked; he listened attentive; the most valuable was from his grandmother who simply said, “Be away from bad company and bad habits”. His mother had given her blessings to him at home, when she hugged him tight, before we picked up his luggage for loading into the XUV 500, she could neither control her tears nor her voice it was so touching, emotional, real and authentic still I feel fail to express exact. His father, my son, was most composed giving his advice always technical or otherwise, he had prepared hard for him day and night, everything in place, meticulous, right and bright: documents galore and many arranged well and above all paisa literally one by one count by count: sacrifice and straight many cuts and cures: we are meticulous, well discussed and planned: nothing to chance as we always are.

For me real parting came at Airport compound more so at the entry gate of the Airport, when his luggage was loaded in a trolley heavy enough to be pushed pulled slow: I was just looking at his face with hiding eye : do not know what I was thinking, walking slow step by step, we were delaying as much as we could but the clock never stops, at last the gate came, when he touched my feet, hugged him, said to him, “Vijayee Bhav Aur Laut Ke Aaa” meaning, “Be Victorious and Come Back”, tears held back but they did roll down and wiped away secretly: he pulled the trolley inside, saw him entering the gate inch by inch, as if a part of me was going faraway, he did had eye contact and continued to see his every step till he mingled with the crowd of passengers and  again saw his back with a bag and side profile in the queue across the glass, for check-in far away for faraway foreign land, that too alone, gaze continued: it  was over in few minutes and he walked away for security check, away from our eyes too, every eye my son, daughter-in-law, our granddaughter  and grandmother was moist:  started our journey back home after he gave a tinkle of all clear and started for study in a foreign land – the journey home was all silent just noise of the vehicle everybody was silent so I was so, many thoughts and incidents passing one over the other through the mental eye: one such thought was “Hera-Feri” he used to enjoy with me at “Azad” General Store chocolate, potato chips, chewing gum, other children favorites along with our “Angel” when collected from the Bus Stop after the school, another was when I had brought him home from Jivodaya Hospital at birth. Reached home, looked empty it continues to be: My Mother – his great grandmother used say: “Vade Munde De Vade Bhag” “Eldest boy has big luck and big aura” and it is true; life and fullness is sometimes slightly missing – his absence becomes prominent more so prominent when “Angel” says it empty without him.

“Vijayee Bhav Aur Laut Ke Aaya” are the last words always he repeats: when he raises his fist: at the end of every video call: we may or may not see his return: it gives lot of satisfaction solace, wish him Empire great, he the boss and habitat grand.

This is Vijayee Bhav Laut Ke Aaa.
